Do You Have A Food Intolerance?

3 Ways to find out if certain health foods you’re eating are actually harming your health and sabotaging you from your goals.

Most people believe that by eating nutritiously and eating plenty of vegetables, organic meats and complex carbohydrates that they are doing everything “right”.

The problem lies in that every body is different. One person’s food can be another person’s poison.

Meaning: that just because John snacks hard on kale and carrot sticks all day and feels great doing it, doesn’t mean that you can also.

Let Me Explain…

We are all born with different gut bacteria, different microbiome, born into different cultures who also ate different foods.

We are all unique looking, and have different hair color, skin, eye, and are shaped differently.

This is widely accepted in most cultures as having different likes and interests, but somehow when it comes to nutrition and the foods we are eating, we forget that everyone flourishes on different things.

Here are some ways to find out if you have a food intolerance or sensitivity to certain foods you are eating:

#1: You feel foggy brained an hour or two after you’ve eaten.

Most people would blow this off as a food coma from eating too much, but what happens if you feel this way after having a sensible portion?

More than likely, the food you are consuming is cooked in unhealthy oil, or you’re consuming a food that isn’t registering well in your body.

The best way to test this out is by carrying a food journal or tracking this in your notepad section of your iPhone. Set a timer in your phone for an hour, and then two hours after you’ve eaten and see how you feel.

If you feel less energy and almost light headed and like a zombie, then you’re probably eating something your body is intolerant to.

If at that meal you ate a combination of dairy, wheat and beef, then on a later day eat these separately to see which of the 3 are affecting you.

#2: You get gastrointestinal issues like gas, bloating or diarrhea.

I get that this is uncomfortable to talk about or to even admit, but it must be talked about.

Every time you continuously choose to eat these foods, you’re harming your health and creating what’s called leaky gut inside your intestines.

Did you know that you can actually create an autoimmune disease?

And this can sometimes happen from repetitive neglect to your body and feeding it the wrong foods.

If this is become bothersome to you and the above technique of journaling and timing a reaction isn’t working for you, it may be time to visit your doctor to have additional testing done.

The most common tests a doctor will do is what’s called an IgE blood tests. This tests for certain antibodies in your blood that may be becoming harmed from the foods you’re eating.

Another test that can be performed is a prick test which is usually done at an allergist or by request from a naturopathic doctor.

#3 Do a 14-30 Day Elimination Diet

One of the best ways to find out if you are intolerant to certain foods and to really heal your digestion is by eliminating certain foods that have been known to harm a lot of people.

These foods are:

Corn, wheat (gluten), dairy, soy, peanuts, shellfish and eggs. A lot of the time, we are consuming these foods without them being organic or from a reputable source so you may also be feeling the results of pesticides, hormones, and other chemicals in these foods.

Find a great nutrition program that eliminates all of these foods and stick with it for an entire 14-30 days.

Inside the Metabolic Reset, you can find an amazing nutrition program that is easy to stick to and just eliminate the above foods.

An added plus is you usually end up losing anywhere from 10-15 pounds, just by eliminating the foods that weren’t serving your body.

Because again: if we are all created differently, wouldn’t it make sense we have to feed ourselves differently also?

You are meant to have a fulfilling and healthy life, don’t waste it feeling anything less than FIRE every single day.

Increase Your Energy In Less Than 3 Days

Learn the secrets of those who wake up with energy and sustain it all day long

Have you ever been around those people who just seem like they have an endless amount of energy, yet you can’t seem to keep your eyes open?

Those who you imagine jumping out of bed full of life yet you have to snooze your alarm 7 times before you actually get out of bed?

There’s a formula for this and these people aren’t special, they have just followed the formula below.

We Create Energy, It Isn’t Something You Have Or Don’t Have

I learned a long time ago that if I wanted to consistently wake up every morning on fire then a couple of things had to happen:

A: I had to get out of victim mode and realize that I am the only person who can decide how I feel every day and I had to do the necessary steps to get there.

B: I had to research how the athletes, the high performance people developed and sustained their energy and I wouldn’t stop until I did.

And guess what?

You don’t have to research the second one because I am going to provide you will all that I know and how to achieve it!

#1 You’re Going To Have To Say NO To A lot Of Things

We are only allotted a certain amount of energy each day and can only commit to a certain amount of things.

When you become a “Yes Man” you can pretty much say goodbye to your energy for the rest of the day.

Too often we put others needs before our own, which is a massive mistake in terms of our health and boundaries.

Women especially are constantly trying to save everyone else before they tend to their own needs.

By simply telling someone, “I’m really focusing on things of my own right now” You take your power back and conserve energy for needs of your own.

Now I’m not saying stop doing things for other people, but evaluate and audit if these things you’re doing are draining your energy or uplifting you.

Doing acts of service should uplift you and GIVE you energy, not drain it.

Tip: Write down the people in your life who are energy vampires. Remind yourself that you are the number one person in your life and by constantly tending to them, you leave nothing for yourself.

#2 Prioritize Sleep, Organization, And A Morning Routine

Have you ever woken up after staying up watching a full season of something on Netflix and feel incredibly drained?

This is because sleep is the number one way to generate and renew energy and if you don’t make sleep a priority, you will never know what it feels like to have that high vibin’ energy.

Most people don’t realize it, but they need a full 7-8 hours to feel fresh and to have sharp cognition. Make sure you’re shutting off the TV and allotting at least 7 hours of deep rest.

Another thing successful and high energy people do is they get organized and make sure they aren’t spending unneeded energy on rushing to find things to wear or stressing about their next meal or where they put their phone.

They realize that by organizing their home and workspace ahead of time, it saves stress and also energy so you don’t have to spike your cortisol and lose your patience by searching for things in messy environments.

Do you have a morning routine or do you rush out of the house and forget to eat breakfast?

Whether you chose to eat breakfast before you leave the house or not can make a huge impact on your energy levels.

When your blood sugar dips so does your energy, and you tend to make poor food choices when this happens searching for a quick carb or sugary food to eat.

Tip: Start your morning slowly and make sure to organize your day and also nourish your body with amazing food so you don’t utilize unnecessary energy throughout the day.

#3 Track When You’re Feeling Lower Energy And Address It

Maybe right now you’re noticing that you are doing all of the above things, so what gives?

Sometimes our energy can dip by the poor food choices we are making, adrenal gland dysfunction (from high stress and excess caffeine) and also from working out excessively.

The next time you’re feeling lower energy, write it down. Keep track of it in your phone and figure out what you were doing right before that may have drained it.

More often than not, there will be a correlation.

When I’ve ask my clients where their energy is being drained, most can pinpoint a certain situation of where it’s stemming from.

And once you know this, address it!

Don’t stay in victim mode, make sure you start doing the necessary things to gain your energy back and don’t compromise.

If right now you’re unaware of what to eat or if you’re exercising too excessively, make sure you check out our 30 Day Metabolic Reset Program where we give you the tools to not only lose fat but to also gain more energy.

Now is the time to make changes, not January 1st when everyone will be scrambling to make changes.

Why Mindset Matters When Starting Your Health And Fitness Journey

Why some people seem to succeed and others don’t and what it all comes down to.

Have you ever started a health and fitness program only to quit 3 weeks in?

You were pumped at the idea of hitting your goals, did all of the necessary steps like prep your food, buy a scale and create a hot Spotify playlist, yet you seemed to get bored and quit sooner than you thought?

Everything that we do requires being reminded of why we started.

Whether you’re going back to college, starting a business, or even having kids, you have to constantly and relentlessly remind yourself of why you wanted to begin in the first place.

Training Your Brain

The tools for achieving 6 pack abs are out there. You can find information and the steps to anything you want by looking online, yet not everyone has abs.

Why?

Because it takes a certain mindset mixed with discipline to achieve it, and not everyone is willing to do it.

Now, I’m not saying everyone has to have abs or should want them. Everyone has different goals and abs won’t always be mine forever.

But even if you want to get healthier which is a HUGE deal, or lose 10-15 pounds just to feel more confident, you’re going to need these tools I’ll give you below.

Surrounding Yourself With People Who Want To See You WIN

I see this time, and time again. People get so pumped to change their lives and to get healthier, only to be dragged down by haters.

These naysayers will always stop you right in your tracks if you continue to surround yourself with them.

They are the people who are either jealous of your aspirations and wish they dreamed as big as you, or small minded people who should be avoided at all costs.

You are not responsible for how other people feel. And you definitely shouldn’t sacrifice your own goals just to make them feel better about themselves.

My advice?

Evaluate your circle. Take note of who’s actually been there for you and encourages you to dream bigger and keep them close.

The others you hang out with on the weekend and drink beers with yet, they always complain about where they’re at in life?

Buh-Bye.

Aint nobody got time for them and if you continue to surround yourself with those types of people you’ll never hit your goals.

Assume You Will Want To Give Up At One Point And Have Reinforcement

Vision boards get a lot of heat for being too “woo woo” but man, do they work!

I have had a few in my life and nearly 80% of what I had on there came true.

And no, you don’t have to create a vision board to achieve your goals, but you do need to constantly remind yourself of them.

Waking up every day reading goals and what you want also does the trick, and reminding yourself of why you’re doing it.

Motivation and inspiration is not something we have, it’s what we create. So when you wake up every day and you watch an inspiring YouTube video, visualize your goal body, and also read your goals to yourself- it’s POWERFUL.

You start to embody what it is you want in the now, and simultaneously work towards it. Suddenly your mind starts saying YES to what you’re training it to think and to believe, and your workouts and nutrition suddenly become a part of your daily routine.

What motivates you? What motivated you to start to begin with?

Use those tools throughout your journey and don’t underestimate them. This is your golden ticket to having what you want and with repetition, it’s only a matter of time before you have it.

Join A Community Of People Who Have Your Same Goals

As I mentioned earlier, environment and who you surround yourself with will determine your outcome.

Having others who motivate you and hold you accountable can be the difference between regretting the money you spent on a program or not.

We all want to feel like we’re part of a tribe, a community that believes in us and can hold us accountable and help us uplevel if we’re playing small.

If while I was in the NFL and the mindset of the other men I was playing with was horrible, they would have been cut immediately.

This is because owners and coaches know how valuable it is to have a positive environment for growth, and without it everyone will suffer.

If you don’t feel like you have a community if driven and positive people in your life, check out our 30 Day Metabolic Reset which will give you the support and direction you’re looking for.

And if you’re looking to be held extra accountable, join our 1:1 Coaching Program will get you into shape even before the New Year so you can feel accomplished and ready for a thrivin’ 2019.

And don’t forget:

Your body will do what your mind tells it. Train your brain daily and remind yourself that we have just one life and we don’t want to waste it playing small.
